Retail Supply Chains

Shell Foundation has been working on the mechanics of global supply chains as means to improve the sustainability of the agricultural sector since 2002.

Learning from a series of long-term partnerships with retailers such as Marks and Spencer, Woolworths South Africa and C&A, we developed two new types of social enterprise “intermediary” that work across retail supply chains to deliver blended value for retailers and low-income producers alike.

This animation, produced SF and Forum for the Future, explains the role of “Supply Chain Connectors” and how they work with retailers and farmers.
